John Pearson

About John Pearson

John Pearson is First Secretary for Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Mexico City. He took up his post in August 2012. John joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1990. He has held a variety of positions in London, including working in the FCO’s Environment Policy Department. His other overseas postings have included Madrid, Brasilia and Montevideo, where he was Deputy Head of Mission. His previous position was as Head of the British Government’s network on climate change in South East Asia, based at the British High Commission in Singapore, where he held the position from 2008 to 2012. His first degree was a BSc in Geography from the University of Nottingham, where he specialised in coastal environments and air pollutants. He also has an MA in International Peace and Security from King’s College, London, where he wrote his dissertation on ‘Climate Change and the Implications for International Peace and Security’
